Congress in Your Inbox - Medicare Open Season Is Under Way

Dear Friend,

Last week, Steve and I were very blessed to have five of our seven children home for Thanksgiving.  We ate a delicious heritage turkey from a family farm in Baldwin City, cooked to perfection.  I hope your Thanksgiving was every bit as enjoyable and meaningful as ours!

As we enter the very busy holiday months, I hope you'll take the time for an important but often overlooked responsibility:  reviewing your health insurance plan.  If you're a senior citizen, this is your one opportunity each year to change your Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.  For 2007, "open season" runs from November 15 through December 31.

Choosing the right drug plan can be difficult and confusing, requiring you to carefully consider hundreds of prescription drug plans from dozens of companies.  In order to help, my office is cosponsoring a series of Medicare enrollment forums with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

So far we've visited Ottawa, Onaga, and Manhattan, and this Wednesday, we'll host two more forums in Columbus and Fort Scott:

Medicare Enrollment Forums
Wednesday, November 28, 2007

1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Columbus Community Center
320 East Maple
Columbus, Kansas

5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Buck Run Community Center
735 Scott Avenue
Fort Scott, Kansas

I'll hope to see you there!

With warm regards,

Nancy Boyda
