Visiting Washington

A visit to Washington, DC is an exciting and rewarding trip.  I am pleased to be able to provide services to constituents when they are planning their trip.  Our office can provide assistance in possibly obtaining the following tours:

United States Capitol
  • These tours are conducted by a staffer in our DC office and are available Monday through Friday throughout the day.  Please contact our office to arrange this tour.  If you would like a tour at a time not available through our office, we encourage you to visit http://www.aoc.gov/cc/visit/index.cfm for information on a capitol guide service tour

The White House
  • Our office is able to request a tour of the White House.  We are able to due these request up to 6 months in advance and no less then 1 month.  These tours are available Tuesday through Saturday.  Please note that White House tours are in very high demand, and very difficult to obtain.  Although contacting our office with as much notice as possible increases your chances, even tours reserved the full 6 months in advance are at times not available. 

Bureau of Printing and Engraving
  • We are able to assistant in obtaining passes to see the paper currency of the United States being printed.  Tours available Monday through Friday.  Congressional tours often fill up fast so be sure to visit http://www.moneyfactory.gov/locations/section.cfm/20/21 for information on obtaining tickets if a Congressional tour is unavailable. 

Pentagon
  • The home of the Department of Defense is available to constituents on a very limited basis.  Contact my office and we will process a tour request.

Kennedy Space Center
  • Although not in Washington, DC those constituents of Illinois’ 14th Congressional District visiting Cape Canaveral, Florida may be able to obtain complimentary passes to the center by contacting our office.  Tickets for launches may also be available.  These passes are very difficult to obtain so please consider an alternate way of visiting the space center if a complimentary tour is not available.  More information on tickets can be found  http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com
