Clyburn Statement on Black History Month
February 4, 2008
WASHINGTON, D.C. –“The month of February provides all Americans with an excellent opportunity to celebrate the many worthwhile and invaluable contributions that African-Americans have made to the advancement of our diverse society. As the first African-American to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Congress since the 1890's, I fully appreciate and understand the vital importance of observing Black History Month. And as a Member of the Congressional Leadership, I will continue to work with my colleagues in advancing a legislative agenda that benefits all people of all colors.”
