Iraq
Since the start of military operations in March 2003, President Bush has fought the war in Iraq without an adequate number of troops, without a viable exit strategy, and without regard to our standing in the world. After more than four years, thousands of lives lost and billions of dollars spent, the President continues to demand an open-ended commitment that will keep American troops in Iraq indefinitely and continue to strain our military. I am proud to be part of a Congress that is finally taking important steps to hold the President accountable for his failed policies and change our nation’s course in Iraq.
Like the people of eastern Connecticut, I remain deeply concerned about the war and its impact on our military, our nation and our standing in the world. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I will continue to support efforts to change our course in Iraq and bring our men and women in uniform home.
