Kingston Joins Republican Energy Protest
08/25/2008 Congressman Jack Kingston (R/GA) today returned to Washington to participate in the floor protest staged by House Republicans. While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi enjoys a five week paid vacation to conduct her book tour, Congressman Kingston and House Republicans remain hard at work - traveling through their districts to hear the stories of high gas prices hurting their constituents and by participating in an unprecedented debate on the House floor. Along with his colleagues, Congressman Kingston is calling on House Speaker Pelosi to reconvene Congress and hold a vote on a comprehensive energy package that would increase innovation in new vehicle and fuel technologies, allow exploration of American energy, and promote conservation. With this three-pronged approach, we can bring down the price at the pump and realize America's energy independence.

Jack on the Floor - 7.17.08
07/17/2008 Jack took to the House Floor today to praise House Democrats for finally hearing the call of their constituents and acting on energy legislation. The only problem, is that their “DRILL NOW” bill does nothing but restate current law and the status quo will do nothing to bring down gas prices. Not only does today’s bill do nothing to increase supply, it completely ignores the two other necessary components of a sound energy policy - conservation and innovation.

Jack on the Floor - Bipartisan Energy Debate
06/27/2008 Jack took to the floor today to call for a bipartisan energy debate. For years, Jack has been working with Congressman Eliot Engel, a Democrat representing the Bronx, on a bill (HR 670, The DRIVE Act) that accomplishes many tasks where there is bipartisan agreement. This should be where the action starts.

Jack on the Floor - Business Card on a Basketball Court
06/12/2008 Jack took to the floor today to remind Americans of what we're talking about when we talk about drilling in ANWR. Alaska is two times the size of Texas. ANWR is the size of South Carolina and if ANWR were the size of a basketball court, the area we want to open for drilling would be the size of a business card on that basketball court.

Jack on the Floor - Gas Prices
06/10/2008 Jack took to the floor today to discuss the high cost of gas and the hypocrisy of the United States blaming this on someone else. America has the domestic resources to solve our energy crisis but we remain the ONLY nation in the world to restrict our domestic energy supply.
