WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Rep. George Miller (D-CA), chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, today released the Emergency Response Plan for the Crandall Canyon Mine in Utah where six miners remain trapped. Under legislation enacted in 2006, mine operators are required to submit the plans to the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration. Miller’s committee has jurisdiction over worker safety issues, including MSHA.
