Lugar partners with Catholic Charities for Winter Clothing Drive

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

The Richard G. Lugar Northeast Indiana Community Service Center, along with Catholic Charities, will sponsor a winter clothing drive from December 1 through December 18.

“I am pleased to partner with Catholic Charities for this winter clothing drive,” Lugar said.  “These donations will make a difference in the lives of Hoosiers in Northeast Indiana this winter.”

The Lugar Community Service Center will be collecting blankets, scarves, hats, mittens, gloves, and coats for the Lugar Helping Hands program.  The Lugar Helping Hands program, in partnership with Catholic Charities, will deliver the donated items to local immigrants in need of warm clothing and blankets this winter.

Additionally, the Lugar Community Service Center will collect winter clothing items during Covington Plaza’s “A Holiday Celebration” on Saturday, December 6 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event offers families an opportunity to donate clothing and books for local children while enjoying a variety of holiday activities at the Lugar Community Service Center.
