Need Assistance with a Federal Agency?

Constituent Casework
Senator Bennett and his staff are often able to assist Utahns in their interactions with government officials and agencies. This assistance can come in the form of a request for information or a status report, requests for prompt consideration of your case, or to help in arranging for interviews or appointments. While Senator Bennett can't ask a government agency to do anything contrary to existing law or regulations, he can make sure that your rights are respected and that errors in procedure are corrected.

How to Get Help

If you require assistance, please call or write to Senator Bennett at one of his Utah offices. In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, a letter from you authorizing him to act on your behalf is required. Please complete and submit a privacy release form including a concise explanation of your situation, as well as copies of all relevant information.

Unfortunately, because of the separation of the legislative and judicial branches of government, members of Congress cannot intervene in criminal and civil cases. Additionally, as a representative of the federal government, Senator Bennett does not have the authority to intervene in cases that involve Utah state agencies. For those inquiries, please contact Governor Huntsman’s office at (801) 538-1000.

Academy Nominations
Academy Nominations
Each year Senator Bennett enjoys the opportunity of nominating Utah students for appointment to the Army, Navy, Merchant Marine, and Air Force Academies. These appointments are limited, and the principal criterion is academic excellence. The process is now open for candidates seeking the nomination for appointment to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Merchant Marine, or West Point (Army) academy classes that will be entering in July, 2005.
