Support Our Troops
The American people support the men and women of our Armed Services. They appreciate the sacrifices our service people and their families make on our behalf. If you want to know what you can do to demonstrate your personal support, I offer a few suggestions below.
Let us all keep our troops in our thoughts and our prayers.
How can you help?
Donate a Calling Card to help keep service members in touch with their families.
Volunteer at a veterans' health center.
Donate to the relief societies for the Army, Navy/Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
Helpful tips on sending mail and packages to your family members serving in the Persian Gulf. (Please do not flood the military mail system with letters, cards, and gifts. Due to security concerns and transportation constraints, the Department of Defense cannot accept items addressed to “Any Service Member.” Some people have tried to avoid this prohibition by sending large numbers of packages to an individual service member's address, which however well-intentioned, clogs the mail and causes unneccessary delays.)
