Norton decided to devote her annual Seniors Legislation Day to the digital switch because seniors disproportionately receive television broadcast through analog TV. Seniors will get their coupons for new converter boxers.

Norton will give an overview of the changes Congress has required, but, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin and experts from the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Norton, will demonstrate use of the converter box and explain the two $40 coupons available to every household. J.C. Haywood will be the MC and the D.C. Office on Aging is cooperating in the effort and is transporting seniors.

"Seniors and other residents who decide to stick with analog instead of going to pay TV, will need to now how to get, use and pay for converter boxes," Norton said. Even if they have subscribed to a pay TV company, they may have some analog sets at home. The on-site demonstration and quiz afterwards should really help." Seniors will be entertained by Reverend Nolan Williams and the Inspiration Ensemble. As always at this annual event, Norton will emphasize the necessity for regular exercise by bringing fitness specialist, A. Yummy Tyler, of the Washington Senior Wellness Center, to offer advice and do some exercises with the seniors.
