Internship Opportunities

I accept college and graduate level students, as well as recent graduates, to work as interns in my Washington and district offices. Internships are a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience and knowledge of the federal government and Congress. Please download an application to apply.

How are Interns Selected?
Interns are selected based on the following requirements:

  • Completion of a written application
  • College transcripts
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Personal interview

When is the deadline for applications?

  • November 13 for Winter/Spring (January-May)
  • March 31 for Summer (June-August)
  • July 14 for Fall (September-December)

However we do encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.

What do Interns do?
Interns work closely with the professional staff in each office and provide assistance in many areas. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching specific legislative issues
  • Assisting with clerical tasks
  • Responding to constituent requests
  • Data Entry
  • General office duties
