WAIVING A REQUIREMENT OF CLAUSE 6(A) OF RULE XIII WITH RESPECT TO CONSIDERATION OF CERTAIN RESOLUTIONS REPORTED FROM THE COMMITTEE ON RULES

1. Waives clause 6(a) of Rule XIII (requiring a two-thirds vote to consider a rule on the same day it is reported from the Rules Committee) against certain resolutions reported from the Rules Committee.


2. Applies the waiver to any resolution reported through the legislative day of December 13, 2008 relating to a measure to authorize financial assistance to eligible automobile manufacturers, and for other purposes.


3. Provides that H.Res. 1516 and H.Res. 1526 are laid upon the table.

  


 RESOLUTION


 
            Resolved, That the requirement of clause 6(a) of rule XIII for a two-thirds vote to consider a report from the Committee on Rules on the same day it is presented to the House is waived with respect to any resolution reported through the legislative day of December 13, 2008, providing for consideration or disposition of a measure relating to financial assistance to eligible automobile manufacturers, and for other purposes.

Sec. 2.  House Resolutions 1516 and 1526 are laid on the table.
