“Peter Orszag is not only a superb selection for Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), but exactly the person I would have chosen.  In fact, I had a part in selecting Peter to be Director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) two years ago.

“Peter Orszag is a first-class economist, with a gift for explaining complex matters simply and succinctly.  He has experience in the legislative branch as CBO Director and in the Executive Branch as a member of the Council of Economic Advisors.  Along the way, he has acquired admirers in both parties.  Our loss at CBO is OMB’s gain, but we look forward to working in tandem with him on the budget and fiscal issues facing our country.
