WASHINGTON, DC-
Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today released procedures for Third District
residents requesting tickets to the presidential inauguration on January 20,
2009:

Due to the limited number of tickets available,
the deadline for requests is Friday,
November 28. Only residents of the
Third Congressional District are eligible for inaugural tickets through Smith's
office. Individuals who have received
tickets will be notified the following week.
- Ticket
requests can be made through any of Smith's Congressional Offices or by contacting him through by e-mail at

- No more than six tickets at a time may be
requested.
- Tickets will be available for pick-up on Monday,
January 19 during normal business hours.
- Tickets may be picked up only from Smith's Washington D.C. office (Cannon House
Office Building,
Room 503) in person and with photo identification. A representative for groups will not be
allowed to pick up multiple tickets.
- Security
requires children able to walk to have a ticket; strollers will not be
permitted.
Security gates on the Capitol grounds officially open at 9:00 a.m. on
Inauguration Day. The area of the
National Mall west of 4th
Street will not require a ticket, as has been the
case previously. However, due to the
interest in the presidential inauguration, this area is expected to reach
capacity quickly.
