Congresswoman Gillibrand Sends Care Packages to Troops | Print |

May 25, 2007

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  On Thursday before voting to approve funds to be spent on healthcare for our active duty men and women in the military and area veterans, local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand (NY-20) took time out of her legislative day to send care packages to our troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. Through the efforts of the USO (United Service Organizations) Gillibrand stuffed troop bags with phone cards, chapsitck and other requested items."Our troops serving overseas are sacrificing everyday. Sending the resources for even a little relief can remind them that we are thinking about them and working hard to bring them home," said Gillibrand, a member of the Armed Services Committee.
