January 24, 2007 SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – Today Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand (NY 20) announced her first Town Hall public meeting in Saratoga Springs to discuss the first “100 Hours” of the 110th Congress and her committee assignments to the House Armed Services and Agriculture committees. The meeting will take place at the VFW Hall located at 190 Excelsior Ave in Saratoga Springs. Prior to her election, Congresswoman Gillibrand pledged to hold at least one Town Hall meeting a month that was open to the public and the media. This meeting is her first installment of this important commitment. In addition to holding town hall meetings throughout the district Congresswoman Gillibrand has been active in reaching out to local residents through several Congress At Your Corner events on the weekends to reach folks at times and places convenient to them. These meetings are all part of Congresswoman Gillibrand’s commitment to be open and accessible to the communities she serves. Anyone is welcomed to attend Monday’s meeting, and Representative Gillibrand will be available to answer constituents’ questions as time permits. While the first town hall meeting is scheduled in Saratoga, the Congresswoman plans on holding at least one meeting in each of the ten counties she represents in this first year of her service.
