Rep. Gillibrand to visit Troops at Stratton Air National Guard Base |

Saratoga Springs NY - Today, local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand (NY-20) announced that she will visit Stratton Air National Guard Base to meet with troops and tour the facility this Tuesday January 8th at 12:15pm
"As a member of the House Armed Services committee it is very important to me to meet with servicemen and women in our district," said Gillibrand who visited with troops in Iraq this past year. "I look forward to visiting with our local National Guard and to discuss important military issues."
In addition to the Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities subcommittee and the Seapower subcommittee, Congresswoman Gillibrand also serves on the Roles and Missions Panel which examines the roles and missions of the military services.
The 109th Airlift wing was established in 1948 as a fighter unit and employs 1,241 local residents, 714 of which are from Congresswoman Gillibrand's district. The men and women of the 109th have deployed statewide and worldwide including the Middle East. The 109th Airlift Wing contributes approximately $110 million annually to the regional economy and leads in the creation of over 300 jobs in the surrounding community.
