Saratoga Springs, NY  - Local Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand today announced that she will hold a tele(phone) town hall meeting on Monday, September 17th.  After traveling through the ten counties holding public meetings and events, the Congresswoman will reach out her constituents, live, via new technology that allows thousands of local residents to participate at once.  The forum will be set up similar to a talk radio format which will allow callers to ask their questions directly to their Congresswoman.  The topic of the forum will be open ended but may focus on Iraq, Taxes, Agriculture, and the local concerns of people throughout the 20th Congressional District.    

The Congresswoman, a member of the House Agricultural Committee office will be on hand to discuss the Farm Bill and recent legislative action in Washington, DC.  The Congresswoman encourages local residents to come out to meet her and ask questions on Agriculture and the important issues that affect our community.

In addition, to issue-focused forums; other outreach programs, include Congress At Your Corner events at local grocery stores, bookstores, and places where people across the ten different counties eat, shop, and move through their busy lives.  This will be the Congresswoman's first tele-town hall. It is expected that thousands of local residents will participate in the call.
