"As a new member of Congress, I believe accountability and accessibility to the families of our community is very important to being an effective Representative, and I am committed to both.  I know that folks daily lives are very busy and they just don't have time to stop by the offices of those who represent them in Washington," said Gillibrand, a member of the Armed Services Committee. "I encourage folks to come out to meet me and share their priorities for Congress, opinions on important issues and requests for help with federal agencies."

Congresswoman Gillibrand believes it is important to take back our federal government from the special interests, and plans to lead by example.  Going out to the community she serves and soliciting the opinions of constituents will be an important part of that process. 

Congresswoman Gillibrand will participate in the parade and have staff on hand to open casework files for constituents.
