(September 5, 2007) Congresswoman Gillibrand Announces Federal Grant to New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence | Print |
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Kirsten Gillibrand announced that the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence has received a grant for $83,045 from the U.S. Department of Justice.  Funding is authorized by the Violence Against Women Act and supports state coalition efforts to coordinate victim services within their state, as well as collaborate with other federal, state and local entities.

"I am thrilled that the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence has been awarded this grant.  They provide invaluable services to women who are in need of support, and they are helping eradicate domestic violence throughout Upstate New York," said Congresswoman Gillibrand.

The New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive services which include a domestic and sexual violence hotline, community outreach & resources, training and technical assistance, public policy, coalition building & networking, intensive focus projects and cultural competency.
