The 1st District

Welcome to the First District of Tennessee. I have the privilege of representing a beautiful diverse area with hardworking people. Throughout the First District, you will find historic and unique towns and cities. Our area offers a wide variety of entertainment, history and culture. We are home to the Bristol Motor Speedway and NASCAR fans come from all over the country to our spring and summer races. We are the Birthplace of Bristol Country Music and have a museum that showcases all of the musical history originating from our mountains. The First District hosts the International Storytelling Festival located in Jonesborough, the oldest town in Tennessee. We also have the very popular family entertainment of Dollywood in Sevier County that is the Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains. We are the home of ETSU and James H Quillen VA Medical Center located in Johnson City, and Northeast State in Sullivan and Walters State in Hamblen County.
