Florida's 16th Congressional District covers eight counties and a population of more than 640,000. The District stretches from the east coast to the west coast of the state, including Lake Okeechobee and Charlotte, Hendry, Highlands, Glades, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties. Congressman Mahoney's District is the true representation of Florida spanning from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico: its eight counties cover both undisturbed swampland and beautiful beaches; growing cities and quaint towns; areas with high-tech and bio-tech industry and areas of vast agricultural production.
