Long Beach, CA ----- In an effort to help more needy families in the midst of the country's worst economic crisis in over 70 years, Congresswoman Richardson has expanded her program, “Operation Gobble” to include more families in the 37th Congressional District.
“Traditionally, Thanksgiving is a time for reflection, appreciation and family. Unfortunately, many in our community are living alone, separated from their families, or confronting daunting economic and other obstacles in their lives,” said Congresswoman Richardson. “Operation Gobble” is a way to show that we care, and to make an effort to ensure that all have at least one day of relief.”
Congresswoman Richardson will be on hand to distribute over 600 turkeys on Monday, November 24, 2008 at the following locations:

430PM New Hope Homes, 1150 New York Street, Long Beach, CA.
530PM St. Mary's Tower, 1120 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, CA.
In addition, “Operation Gobble” will distribute turkeys to the following organizations that will prepare Thanksgiving Dinner for hundreds more:
Carson Women’s Club, Help Me Help You, several local churches, Central Neighborhood Advisory Committee, Stella and Alice’s Homeless Feed, Role of Men, Child Development Center, Downtown Homeless Thanksgiving Feed and the Imperial Courts Housing Development.
