The U.S. House of Representatives Page Program is an exciting opportunity for America's youth to be an integral part of the legislative process and to learn firsthand about the legislative branch.
Students serving in their junior year of high school can qualify for this unique program.
Pages serve primarily as messengers delivering legislative material between the various buildings of U.S. Capitol Complex. They also may be tasked with answering phones in the Republican and Democrat Cloakrooms, perform light clerical work and assist on the floor of the House of Representatives.
The U.S. House of Representatives Page Program offers both a school year session and a summer session.
Currently, sixty-six young men and women are appointed by Members of Congress to serve as Pages in the U.S. House of Representatives.
This program is administered by the Office of the Clerk of the U.S. House of Representatives.

To be qualified to serve as a Page during the school year session, applicants must:
- be at least 16 years of age at the time their appointment begins;
- be a junior in high school;
- and have a cumulative grade point average of "B" or better in their major courses.
To be qualified to serve as a page during the summer sesion, applicants must:
- be at least 16 years of age at the time their appointment begins;
- have a cumulative grade point average of "B" or better in their major courses;
- and be willing to serve as a Page for one month during the summer before or after their junior year of high school.

All Pages are required to live in the Page Residence Hall which sets on the Capitol Complex. Supervisors live on the premises and there are seperate floors for males and females. Each room is furnished and there is a community room and laundry facilities in the Hall. Pages agree to a code of conduce in writing, which includes a curfew and other terms they must adhere to as a precondition to their participation in the program.
Pages participating during the school year session are required to attend classes at the Page School, which is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
The Page School is located on the Capitol Complex at fourth floor of the Library of Congress Jefferson Building.
This special school is for the school year Pages only. The summer Pages do not attend.
Pages recieve a monthly paycheck. Their dorm cost and meal plans are automatically out of their paycheck.
The dress required for males is a navy blazer, long sleeved white shirt, dark gray slacks, dark socks, dark shoes and a standard issue tie (provided during orientation).
The dress required for females is a navy blazer, long sleeved white blouse, dark gray skirt or dark gray pants, dark shoes, appropriate hose and a standard issue tie (provided during orientation).

The U.S. House of Representatives Page Program is extremely competitive. Each of the 435 Members of Congress may submit one or more recommendations, but only 66 Page positions are available. Final selections are made by the Majority and Minority leadership and the U.S. House of Representatives Page Board.
