Constituent Services

Part of my job as a U.S. Representative is to help constituents from the 23rd Congressional District in any way I can – whether by providing assistance with a federal agency, information about federal grants, or help with application to a service academy.

Casework – Help With A Federal Agency
Most federal agencies can answer your questions directly. But, if you have approached a Federal agency and experienced difficulties or unusual delays, I am happy to try to help. I cannot guarantee success, but I can guarantee that I will make every effort on your behalf. The first step to initiate this process would be for you to complete Privacy Act Form and send it to one of my offices.

Visiting Washington, D.C.
My office strives to post the most up-to-date information on D.C. attractions as it becomes available. Here you will find information on Washington's popular tour destinations. Please note that access to certain monuments continues to vary as our nation increases its security measures. (For constituents seeking White House Tours, requests should be submitted five to six months in advance.)

Mobile Office
Members of my staff routinely "go mobile" to extend the reach of my office to those constituents who cannot travel to one of my district offices in Watertown, Plattsburgh, Mayfield and Canastota. I personally conduct these meetings when the Congressional schedule allows. We hold these sessions in various communities throughout Upstate New York to offer a good old-fashioned face-to-face meeting to anyone who wishes to discuss a federal issue with myself or one of my staff members. Dates for these meetings are posted on the homepage and news section of my website as scheduled.

Flag Requests
American flags may be flown over the U.S. Capitol to recognize a person or a special occasion. Flags can be purchased from my office 6-8 weeks prior to the day you would like the flag to be flown.

Financial Aid for Education
A comprehensive resource center for parents and students looking to get more information about financial aid.

Help with Federal Grants
I invite constituents of the 23rd District of NY to contact my office for additional assistance with grant information and applications.

Service Academy Nominations
High School students can obtain information from my office regarding the procedure to apply for nominations and appointments to the military service academies. Please note that, each year, November 1 is the deadline to submit completed applications to my office.

Federal Job Postings
Helpful resources for obtaining employment with the federal government.

Obtaining a Federal Document
Locate federal documents through government resources.

Presidential Greetings
Obtain a congratulatory greeting from the President of the United States.

Kids' Page
Find information about the U.S. government and the legislative process - tailored just for kids.

Do Not Call Registry
I regularly receive mail, phone calls, and visits from many constituents frustrated with the number of unwanted phone calls they receive from telemarketers. Congress has authorized the Federal Communications Commission to establish and partially fund a "National Do-Not-Call Registry." For more information and to register your telephone number on the national Do-Not-Call registry online, please visit www.donotcall.gov. You can also register by telephone at 1-888-382-1222; for TTY, call 1-866-290-4236.
