Broun's Four-Way Test
I am committed to protecting the constitutional rights and pocketbooks of every American. I will apply the following four-way test to every piece of legislation that comes before the House for a vote:

1) Is it Moral / Right?                 3) Is it Necessary?
2) Is it Constitutional?                4) Is it Affordable?

Protecting the 2nd Amendment

An avid hunter and outdoorsman, I strongly support the Constitution’s Second Amendment right to bear arms and I will defend the rights of law abiding citizens to purchase, use, and keep firearms. As your representative, I will vigorously oppose all attempts to restrict the Second Amendment. I recognize that programs such as the national firearms registration and the assault weapons ban are an infringement on constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans. I understand and support the primacy of state law in matters related to firearms purchases and registration and will support state efforts to disarm dangerous criminals.

I am a member of the Georgia Sport Shooting Association, the NRA’s state affiliate, and served two terms as president of the organization. I also served as vice president of Safari Club International, the world’s largest organization dedicated to protecting the freedom to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation. In fact, I first became active in state and national politics as a volunteer for Safari International, traveling to Washington D.C. at my own expense to represent the rights of gun owners and hunters across the nation before Congress. I am a member of numerous other responsible conservation and hunting organizations, and I am still an avid hunter. I enjoy hunting duck, geese, upland bird, deer, and have had the opportunity on several occasions to hunt big game in Africa.

I believe that any law – whether at the local, state, or federal level – which restricts or infringes upon law abiding citizens’ ability to own a firearm is unconstitutional and should be repealed. Unfortunately, there are numerous gun control laws on the books today that I will work to repeal.
