Purpose of the Hearing

The Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation met on Wednesday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. in room 2167 Rayburn House Office Building to receive testimony on “Coast Guard Icebreaking."  The hearing focused on  several issues regarding icebreaking – domestic and polar – including defining domestic and polar icebreaking missions; determining what resources are needed to accomplish the identified missions; and determining how to best provide the resources to carry out the missions.
