Internships

The office of Congressman Nick Lampson offers internships both in the Washington, D.C., office and the Stafford and Clear Lake district offices for college students interested in learning how a congressional office works.

Interns must be responsible, self-motivated, and eager to work in fast-paced environment. Previous political experience is a big plus, preferably from campaigns or Capitol Hill, as well as IQ familiarity. Strong interest in and knowledge of American politics and U.S. Congress is highly desired. Intern must maintain positive attitude and possess superior interpersonal skills.

Interns will be responsible for assisting staff with phones, mail, tours, and related office duties. Additional tasks, including drafting constituent correspondence and research projects, may be assigned as time allows. Intern must be available nearly full-time and may be required to stay late a few nights. We are looking for a smart, experienced and dedicated intern for a valuable and important position.
