Higher prices at the pump are straining the pocketbooks of Americans and driving up the price of goods and services for families and businesses. The economic effects of higher oil prices are being felt in every state and city throughout the United States.

Congress must take immediate and decisive action now to address the rapidly rising price of oil. The solution lies not in the petty partisanship we’ve seen displayed by both parties over the last several years, but in a concerted bipartisan effort which leaves no stone unturned and no idea off the table. House Democratic and Republican leadership must hear the message loud and clear—enough of the partisan political games—we must solve this crisis now.

Please join me in demanding that leaders of both parties stop playing political games and start lowering gas prices for Americans.

Sign the petition below calling on both parties in the House of Representatives to:

• Immediately convene a bipartisan meeting of House leaders to address rising energy prices
   
• Ensure increased domestic (American-made) energy by allowing domestic production in the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) as well as the Arctic Wildlife Refuge (ANWR)
   
• Invest in long-term energy research and development (biodiesel, wind, fuel cell, solar, energy efficiency technologies, etc…)
   
• Bring comprehensive energy legislation addressing energy supply and demand issues to a vote on the House floor.
