U.S. Representative Tom Allen earns “A” grade from the American Geriatrics Society

Allen recognized for his continued leadership and support of key legislative initiatives to protect older adults

Portland, ME (October 24, 2008)--U.S. Representative Tom Allen today received an “A” on the Congressional Report Card from the American Geriatrics Society.  The AGS noted Allen’s support of legislation aimed at ensuring that the nation’s rapidly growing population of older adults has access to quality healthcare.

“I am delighted to receive such an accolade from the American Geriatrics Society,” said Rep. Allen.  “It is imperative that we provide quality, affordable healthcare to all Americans, including our seniors who deserve comprehensive, coordinated care.”

The American Geriatrics Society is a non-profit organization of more than 6,500 healthcare professionals devoted to improving the health, independence and quality of life for older people.  The Society supports this mission through activities in clinical practice, professional and public education, research and public policy.
