Tax Happy Liberals Don't Have Answer for Falling Deficits
The Congressional Budget Office this week reported that the deficit continues to fall precipitously -- despite Democrats' claim this can't happen due to Republican tax relief. Instead of continuing the Republican tax relief that has resulted in millions of new jobs, a soaring stock market, and falling deficits, the Democrats are set on increasing taxes. As a recent Wall Street Journal editorial states, "...if Congress gets its way on spending and taxes, all of this progress will be short-lived."

Weldon on COPS Program: 'Taxpayers Deserve Better'
Yesterday, Congress approved an authorization bill to triple the size of the Community Orienting Policing Services (COPS). I voted against the bill because past news and government audits show that: 1.) nearly $300 million has been misspent to date, 2.) COPS has little to no effect in reducing actual crime rates, 3.) the largest recipient, New York City, collected $422 million but actually reduced the number of officers on the street, 4.) according to federal audits and police staffing data obtained by USA Today from the 20 largest recipients of COPS grants, thousands of hires funded by COPS never materialized. Until the waste, fraud, and abuse is dealt with, I see no reason for taxpayers to triple the size of this program...

The Democrats’ much-hyped First 100 Hours are finally over. But not before the party’s high rolling leadership turned on the Washington money machine. If the ensuing hours of their majority are as expensive, American taxpayers may want to hide their wallets...
