Here is What Change in 2007 Brought
Washington,
Sep 23 -
Big changes came to Washington in early 2007. A new Democrat Majority was elected to both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. Since January 5, 2007, Congress has been under the leadership of Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
It is often instructive to look back to see what big changes have wrought, particularly leadership changes in Congress that effect national policy on a host of issues that effect the everyday lives of Americans.
The economy is a perennial issue of concern to Americans, and for good reason. To put this leadership change in perspective, let’s take a look at some major economic indicators and compare Republican stewardship of the economy and the current Democrat leadership of the economy. The chart below compares the economy that the Republican controlled Congress handed over to the Democrats on January 5, 2007, to today’s economy controlled by Democrat leadership for the past 20 months:

There is a great deal of talk about change lately. The real question is what kind of change are our elected leaders talking about? Is America really looking for the kind of change that this Democrat controlled majority has delivered the past two years?
