U.S. Representative Dave Weldon has served on the prestigious House Appropriations Committee since January of 2003.

While the voting process in Congress is often highlighted on the evening news, the work of Congress is mostly done in committees. The key responsibilities of the committees is to authorize spending and provide oversight of governmental programs. The Appropriations Committee, is responsible for producing spending bills which allocate federal dollars to government programs. Each committee also has subcommittees which act as specialists on topics which the committee oversees.

Rep Weldon's subcommittee assignments include State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, as well as Labor, Health and Human Services and Education.
