Throughout this past year, Congressman Space has fought to provide economic development not only for Morgan County, but also for the entire region. Listed below you will find some of the projects that will make a significant impact on the lives of residents living in Morgan County:

• Investing in Infrastructure – Congressman Space held a town hall meeting in April of last year to discuss the transportation and infrastructure needs of the community. As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, he worked on the Water Resources Development Act and other major legislation with the concerns of Morgan County residents in mind.
• Listening to the Concerns of Our Heroic Veterans – As a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, Congressman Space is proud to advocate for the needs of veterans. In July, he met with veterans in Malta to hear about their needs and concerns. When the VA budget came before Congress, he supported the largest increase in funding in the VA’s history.
• Bringing Jobs to Morgan County – Congressman Space worked with the State of Ohio to bring ABC Manufacturing to Morgan County. Over the next few years, ABC Manufacturing will employ 200 people in good-paying jobs with benefits.
• Saving the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) – Congressman Space worked in Congress to reverse drastic proposed budget cuts for the ARC. The Commission has been an economic engine since President John F. Kennedy set in motion its creation in the 1960s. In fact, in 2007 Congress actually increased the ARC funding to $73 million, the first increase in nearly a decade.

Congressman Space pledges to continue working to ensure that the 18th District receives the support necessary to spur economic growth, maintain a functional infrastructure, and meet the needs of residents.
