| HERSETH SANDLIN ANNOUNCES $52,000 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT FOR NORTHEAST COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS December 9, 2008-Washington, DC-Today, Rep. Herseth Sandlin announced that the Northeast Council of Governments is the recipient of an Economic Development District Planning Grant in the amount of $52,000. This funding will assist the Northeast Council of Governments in establishing an economic development planning framework, process and strategy that supports private capital investment and job creation in the region which includes Beadle, Brown, Campbell, Day, Edmunds, Faulk, Hand, McPherson, Marshall, Potter, Spink and Walworth counties. “This investment will help rural communities in the northeastern part of the state move forward with planning and implementing critical economic development strategies,” Rep. Herseth Sandlin said. The Economic Development District Planning program is administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA). ###
