Agriculture On the Agriculture Committee, Rep. Herseth Sandlin works on behalf of South Dakota’s family farmers and ranchers. She serves on two Subcommittees: Conservation, Credit, Energy and Research; and General Farm Commodities and Risk Management.

Veterans’ Affairs This Committee focuses on veterans’ health care, disability compensation, VA funding and concurrent receipt, among other issues important to veterans. Rep. Herseth Sandlin serves as Chair of the Economic Opportunity Subcommittee.

Natural Resources The Natural Resources Committee has jurisdiction over key South Dakota issues including Native American issues, forests, national parks, fisheries and wildlife. Rep. Herseth Sandlin serves on the Forests and Forest Health Subcommittee.

Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming At the beginning of the 110th Congress, Representative Herseth Sandlin was chosen to serve on the Select Committee in recognition of her advocacy for and leadership on the issue of renewable biofuels.
