Welcome Message
Constituents of the Eleventh Congressional District of Ohio:
On November 19, 2008, I was proud to be sworn in as a Member of the United States Congress and to officially represent you in the House of Representatives.
Following six weeks of campaigning and three elections, I was thrilled to receive eighty five percent of the vote to become your next Congresswoman. Being elected by such a large majority of voters, the largest of any new member of the House running for the 111th Congress, is truly an honor.
I am a person who you can count on. I will work hard because I know what my job is, and my job is to serve the people who put me here. I know that my job is to do the most for those who have the least, and so I will work hard because I have promises to keep.
We are a diverse community comprised of twenty two municipalities, and several hundred thousand individuals. I promise to share your thoughts and feelings with my colleagues and to fight for your best interests.
I would like to close this, my first of many communications with you, as I concluded my introductory statement on the floor of the House of Representatives. I have made promises not only to myself and to the people of the 11th District but to my dearest departed friend, former Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones. Count on me because I will keep my promise.
Thank you again for your support, your encouragement and your blessings.
Sincerely your Representative,
Marcia L. Fudge
Member of Congress
