Tucson lawmaker and 30 colleagues sign letter to Michael Mukasey

TUCSON – U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is among 30 members of the House requesting an investigation into financial institutions, corporations and individuals suspected of criminal activity in connection with the current financial crisis.

In a letter to Attorney General Michael Mukasey, the lawmakers write that the economic crisis “clearly illustrates the need for the F.B.I. to drastically increase its efforts to investigate criminal activity such as mortgage fraud.”
