WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, made the following statement regarding U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential victory.

“I congratulate Senators Obama and Biden on their historic victory.  I have worked well with both Senators and am confident that, with the elections behind us, we can move forward on the critical issues confronting our nation.  We have great challenges and opportunities ahead for Alaska, and I look forward to helping educate the new administration about the issues we face and the promise our state holds.”
