Select Committee on Intelligence

I am pleased that during 110th Congress, I will continue to serve on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. I previously served as Vice-Chairman of this important committee.

The Intelligence Committee makes continuing studies of the intelligence activities and programs of the United States Government. In carrying out this purpose, the Committee on Intelligence is responsible for critical oversight to ensure that the appropriate federal agencies provide the necessary informed and timely intelligence information that the executive and legislative branches need to make sound decisions affecting the security and vital interests of the United States. The Committee also provides vigilant legislative oversight over the intelligence activities of the United States to ensure that all activities are in conformity with the Constitution and laws of the United States.
