Each Member of Congress has the opportunity and privilege to nominate outstanding high school and college students for appointment to our nation's service academies.
The selection process is very competitive and is based on scholastic and athletic records, involvement in community activities, and leadership potential.
Applicants must be residents of Kentucky between the ages of 17 and 21. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact Darlene Simpson in our Ft. Wright office, 1-800-283-8983, for information and forms. The deadline for 2008 has already passed. Senator Bunning would like to thank all applicants who have applied for a nomination this year.
For those who applied after the January 1, 2008, deadline or if you do not receive an appointment to enter one of our U.S. military academies in the year 2008, please feel free to contact my office in order to be considered for a nomination. Remember, the deadline for the class entering 2009 is January 1, 2009.
