Budget
As Chair of the Budget Task Force, I helped play a key role in passing a fiscally responsible budget by eliminating frivolous spending. Each and every dollar the federal government spends represents the hard work of our American taxpayers. This is your money, and the government owes it to you to spend it wisely.
Furthermore, we must continue to pursue common-sense reforms such as “rainy day spending,” instating a line-item veto, sunsetting provisions, and increased transparency for earmarks. We have already passed legislation in the House which promotes each one of these reforms, representing important victories for the American taxpayer. Now we must remain focused and work together to continue to improve the way in which our government manages our taxpayers dollars.
