Klobuchar Statement on Deployment of Minnesota Army National Guard 34th "Red Bull" Infantry Division
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar released the following statement regarding the Minnesota Army National Guard’s 34th “Red Bull” Infantry Division as they prepare for another deployment to Iraq this coming April. The 34th, under the command of Major General Richard Nash, will assume command and control of four active duty brigades – approximately 16,000 multinational forces – in Southern Iraq. The Red Bulls, many of whom are veterans of the longest combat tour by any U.S. military unit, are only the second National Guard unit to be given this level of responsibility in the current conflicts.
