Michael T. McCaul (TX), Ranking Member

McCaulIn November of 2004, Michael McCaul was elected to represent Texas' 10th District in the United States Congress.

As a member of the Committee on Homeland Security, and former Chairman of the Subcommittee on Investigations for the 109th Congress, he has worked to strengthen and secure our borders and prevent waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer funds. For the 110th Congress, Congressman McCaul serves as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, Science and Technology, where he will work to make our nation safer and protect America from the threat of terrorism. Congressman McCaul also serves as an Assistant Whip for the 110th Congress to the House Republican Whip Roy Blunt, and was appointed by the Minority Leader John Boehner to serve on the House Republican Policy Committee.

Prior to coming to Congress, Michael McCaul served as Chief of Terrorism and National Security in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Texas, and led the Joint Terrorism Task Force charged with detecting, deterring and preventing terrorist activity. Congressman McCaul also served as Texas Deputy Attorney General under current U.S. Senator John Cornyn, and served as a federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section in Washington, D.C.
