Marine Corps Marathon

Rep. Jane Harman completed the 30th Marine Corp Marathon --- her first marathon --- in 5 hours and 23 minutes.

A six-term Member, an avid runner and a mother of four, Harman has spent recent months training for the race, often logging long morning miles before arriving at her Rayburn office.

Harman said there were two forces helping her along the 26.2 mile course. “On one hand, this was something I wanted to do for me and my family. When I celebrated a big birthday this year, I decided to tackle this race,” she said. “It’s both a test of physical strength and mental endurance."
