WASHINGTON, D.C. Congresswoman Lois Capps announced today federal grants totaling $10.8 million for transportation and public safety projects at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport. The federal grants will be used to extend the runway and enhance the safety of the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport.

The extension of the Santa Barbara runway is a positive development for our community. These federal resources will help our airport safely maintain its current high quality of service while providing an important opportunity for future growth.
"We are thrilled to receive this money, said Karen Ramsdell, Airport Director for the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport. It will fund the Runway Safety Area (RSA) project and will improve the safety at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport."
