Capps Statement On The Findings Of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Lois Capps released this statement in response to the findings reported today by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

“The new IPCC report confirms that global warming is here now and that humans are significantly contributing to this crisis. The science is clear that we face a dangerous future if we don’t do everything we can to quickly cut global warming pollution.  We must take decisive and effective action at the local, national, and international level to adopt clean energy solutions that reduce our dependence on dirty fossil fuels, create a new generation of jobs and provide climate and energy security.  I will continue my work in Congress to ensure that we take this much needed action at the federal level.”

Congresswoman Lois Capps is a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee and the Natural Resources Committee.
