Health Insurance for Small Businesses
Tuesday, I met with Kevin Shivers, the Pennsylvania State Director for the National Federation of Independent Business, along with local entrepreneurs to discuss new, breakthrough legislation designed to make health insurance more accessible for the 47.1 million employees of American small businesses and for self-employed individuals. The Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Act (H.R. 6210) will make health insurance more available and affordable for small businesses and their employees. More of story…

LIHEAP funding
I am happy to announce the administration’s decision to release $5.1 billion in emergency Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding to help needy Americans pay for heating. This emergency funding will direct more than $308 million to Pennsylvania to help local residents cover the costs of their heating bills for the upcoming winter. More of story…
Marzano VA Clinic
The Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Hermitage, Pennsylvania has been named in honor of Greenville native, Sgt. Michael A. Marzano for his dedication and service to the nation. The legislation I introduced to name the VA Clinic in honor of Sgt. Marzano was enacted into law on Tuesday. Because of his bravery, patriotism and valiant effort to protect our homeland, it is only appropriate to name our local VA clinic in honor of Michael Marzano, our very own hometown hero.
