August 12, 2008 - U.S. Rep. Phil English (R-Pa.) joins Jim Karnes President and CEO of Duratite, Stacy Corapi Director of Marketing at Duratite and Israel Hernandez, the Assistant Secretary for Trade Promotion and Director General of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service at the Department of Commerce for a quick photo at English´s Annual Business Development Conference and Expo at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie, Pennsylvania. In recognition of the local company´s export accomplishments, DuraTite was presented with the U.S. Commercial Service´s Export Achievement Award.
June 10, 2008 - U.S. Rep. Phil English speaks at a press conference to introduce the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP) Act, legislation designed to make health insurance more available and affordable for small businesses and their employees. Phil English speaks with a Penn State graduate student who was a part of the University´s "Challenge X" team that engineered, designed and manufactured a hybrid electric vehicle as part of a competition with the goal to increase fuel economy, decrease emissions and keep the vehicle acceptable for consumer performance.

Phil English (R-Pa.) presented Timothy Egger, a senior at Lakeview High School in Mercer County (right) and Jason McMahon, an 18-year-old senior at Cathedral Preparatory School in Erie County (Left) with the Congressional Award Bronze Medal.
February 4, 2008 - U.S. Rep. Phil English joins seniors at the Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie, Pa. While there, English accepted the Medicare Choices Leadership Award for voting against significant cuts in Medicare that would limit health care choices for seniors. The award was presented to me by Raymond and Virginia Simpson of Harbor Creek who are members of the National Coalition for Medicare Choices.
