Rep. Bobby Scott to Hold Town Hall Meeting on the
Economy in New Kent County

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Robert C. ”Bobby” Scott will hold a Town Hall Meeting for the residents of  New Kent County, VA, on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. at the George W. Watkins Elementary School located at 6501 New Kent Highway in Quinton, Virginia  23141.  Joining Congressman Scott at the Town Hall will be Dr. Diane Lim Rogers, Chief Economist at the Concord Coalition. 

As the U.S. House of Representatives continues to consider legislation affecting the economy, Rep. Scott believes it is critical to get first hand testimonials on how our current economic situation is affecting the people of the Third District of Virginia, the region, and the nation.

“The foreclosure crisis, skyrocketing prices at the pump, the ballooning federal budget deficit, a 600 billion dollar war – Virginians are feeling the pinch of our current economic woes,” said Rep. Scott. “I believe it is critical that I get direct input on these critical economic issues directly from my constituents.”
